Art Journaling Workshops on the

Ridgeway National Trail

Art Journaling with History and Nature

a one-day workshop

Saturday 17th September 2022

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to handle historic artefacts, discover myths and legends and soak up nature and scenery associated with me and Ridgeway officer Sarah Wright. The venue of the historic town of Watlington has been chosen as a source of inspiration for many reasons, including the famous Viking hoard known as the Watlington Hoard!

This workshop for a small group starts at 10.30am and finishes at 4.30pm. There will be activities indoors in Watlington Town Hall handling historic artefacts found along The Ridgeway including axes, coins, brooches, cart fittings etc. There will also be a visit to the library to see the Watlington Hoard on display there and a slow stroll on The Ridgeway trail to use our senses to experience and record the environment around us - nature, scenery, historic features, people.

No experience necessary!

Booking in advance is essential, please email: ridgeway@oxfordshire.gov.uk or find out more here.
