How the workshops will work

Each workshop will be two hours long and will be a mix of me ‘presenting’ (not too much!), using lots of great images, and providing step by step guidance. There’ll be demonstration videos and plenty of time for you to create your own amazing journal pages, based on the themes and ideas each week, within a supportive and creative online community.

The focus is on drawing, enjoying drawing, developing observation skills and using drawing to creatively reflect on and capture your life and the world about you.

Each workshop will include a fun warm up activity, a themed drawing session and ideas for using creative lettering.

After you’ve booked a place I’ll email you a link for each workshop which you just click on at the start time of the meeting and follow the instructions to join zoom.
WEEK 1
Starting to see

Draw what you love! Start off drawing familiar and favourite objects. See how much more you notice when you draw them!
Week 2
Drawing your environment

Breaking it down!
You don’t always have to draw an entire scene, location or place to tell its story.
Week 3
maps & mapping

Creative ways in to capturing a favourite walk, a journey, a memory or even your whole day in your journal!

WEEK 4
people & pattern

Drawing practice and play to help you fill your journal pages with friends, family and others!

What materials and sketchbooks or journals do I need?
For this art journaling course I encourage you to use what you have to hand at home. I have built up a collection of pens, pencils, crayons and inks over the years – and you may have too.

I've compiled a list of materials, as a guide, for you to download here

Last but not least
I've been running these workshops in person since 2017 and have now carefully, and I hope creatively, adapted them as online workshops. I love running them and look forward to meeting you!
