Adventures in Art Journaling

Creative Workshops to Support Employee Well-being

A 4-week course of online interactive creative workshops for organisations, to help promote wellbeing and prevent stress.

'Fostering employee well-being is good for people and the organisation. Promoting well-being can help prevent stress and create positive working environments where individuals and organisations can thrive'

CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)

Fostering employee wellbeing is even more important as we adapt and cope with the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic, such as feeling isolated and having worries about income and health.

My Adventures in Art Journaling online workshops will HELP

You and your teams To

Discover an amazing creative habit

Try different approaches to drawing and lettering

Gain confidence in drawing

Be part of a creative online community

Have fun along the way!

No experience necessary

'Just wanted to say, I thought the workshops were truly wonderful. You were so professional, inspiring and knowledgeable. Your zoom presentation was equally the same. Hands down a great experience. Thank you for being encouraging and getting me doing something else creative'. Online participant.

How it works

Organisations book the 4-week workshop package, which we will schedule through discussion.

Organisations then offer it to staff members either free of charge or at a subsidised rate to prevent barriers to participation. I will provide promotional materials.

Using Zoom, each workshop will be two hours long and will be a mix of me ‘presenting’ (not too much!), using lots of great images, and providing step by step guidance. There’ll be demonstration videos and plenty of time for participants to create their own amazing journal pages, based on the themes and ideas each week, within a supportive and creative online community.

The focus is on drawing, enjoying drawing, developing observation skills and using drawing to creatively reflect on and capture your life and the world about you.

Each workshop will include a fun warm up activity, a themed drawing session and ideas for using creative lettering.

I’ll email participants a zoom link for the workshops.

Maximum number of places per 4-week workshop package: 20

Cost of workshop package: £650, payable on invoice.

What materials and sketchbooks or journals are needed?

For this art journaling course I encourage participants to use what you have to hand at home. I have built up a collection of pens, pencils, crayons and inks over the years – and you may have too.

I've compiled a list of materials, as a guide, for you to download here

Last but not least

I've been running these workshops in person since 2017 and have now carefully and creatively adapted them as online workshops. I'm really looking forward to running them and look forward to meeting you!

Here's what my online participants have said about them:

Just wanted to say, I thought the workshops were truly wonderful. You were so professional, inspiring and knowledgeable. Your zoom presentation was equally the same. Hands down a great experience. Thank you for being encouraging and getting me doing something else creative.

Just wanted to say thank you for the  Art Journaling Course - it went by so quickly. You’re a good teacher and I love your work. Thanks again - hope I might be a bit better now at grabbing my sketchbook out and about - have ordered a diary - which has got to be a good start!

I really enjoyed the course even though it was challenging at times. My doodling looks very different now as I’m looking/noticing what’s around. You’re a wonderful teacher and every session was fun and engaging. Thank you so much.

Here's what participants at the live workshops have said about them...

Really enjoyable sessions. I like the warm-up activities and flow of the course content. I never thought I could draw so that has been an amazing experience. Very good, careful, slow explanations of things. Lots of ideas to follow up. Lots of encouragement. Thank you.

Fantastic, encouraging support. Very inspiring!

It encouraged me to start a sketchbook

Even though I was anxious about the drawing I have really liked this and hope to develop this – just wish we had more weeks!

Lots of really interesting activities  – I would like to do some more. I have so much more confidence and will take it further…..!!

Incredibly inspiring course covering a huge range of ideas and activities. Thank you.
